JSI Creative Announces Completion of ROADSHOW! Script

J. Scott Iverson, writer, producer and owner of JSI Creative, today announced the completion of his latest, LDS-themed, full-length motion picture screenplay, ROADSHOW!

The storyline follows members of the Yorgason family during the production of the "Gilmer Park Ward" roadshow in the summer of 1965 - a time of war, personal turmoil and new assaults on family values, which arose during that decade. The screenplay celebrates the LDS roadshow genre and creative process, which draws from events in people's lives and weaves them into works of art: sometimes simple, sometimes profound; always impactful on the lives of those who participated in the act of creation. ROADSHOW! contains both dramatic and comedic elements that will appeal to a broad range of moviegoers.

"We were able to weave excerpts of an actual roadshow from the era into the script, which give it a much more authentic feel," said Iverson. "And while the roadshow production is important to the story, the central theme is how each of us must endure the hardships life throws at us to gain our own personal testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

The film is currently in the financing and development stage.

Iverson, perhaps best known for his story credit on the ever-popular LDS film, Mr. Krueger's Christmas, starring Jimmy Stewart, as well as his Emmy and Iris Award-winning kids' TV series, ZiNj-TV, recently served as Vice President of Acquisitions, Development and Productions for Bonneville Worldwide Entertainment. Scott Iverson is a 25-year veteran of broadcast production and is an award-winning writer, producer and director. He worked in local television (channels 4 and 5), was a director/producer of many television specials for Bonneville International Corporation and KUED-TV, and was an account executive with Video West Productions. EXPO MART TO HOUSE UTAH MEDIA CENTER
SALT LAKE CITY - The location of the Utah Media Center, a working press facility for non-accredited press during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, was announced today. "The Utah Media Center will be located at the Expo Mart at 230 West 200 South in Salt Lake City", said Spencer Kinard, Assistant Director of the Utah Travel Council who oversees the Utah Media Center program.

Kinard said he is delighted to have secured such a prime downtown workspace for the non-accredited media to work during the Olympics. Non-accredited media are those who come to Utah because of the Olympics but are not allowed, or accredited, to cover official Olympic events, including access to the Olympic Main Media Center at the Salt Palace.

"The Utah Media Center at the Expo Mart will give us about forty-thousand square feet of working space for visiting media," said Kinard, "at a close, convenient, downtown location." He estimates there will be 3,000-4,000 non-accredited press in Utah during the Olympics.

The UMC already has commitments from ESPN, CBS News and the European Broadcast Union and has fielded inquires from other broadcast and print organizations. The center will operate January 7 through February 25, 2002. It will be available to all reporters and media seeking a place to work, watch Olympic coverage, prepare their own stories, and meet with representatives from various Utah organizations and agencies.

Included in the facility at the Expo Mart will be a news briefing room where daily briefings and updates will be presented to attending media. The briefing stage will also be available for other organizations, groups or businesses to rent to present their own media briefings, guests or announcements.

UMC broadcast operations will be provided by Video West Productions and Bonneville Satellite in conjunction with Octagon CSI. Octagon provided similar services to the non-accredited media in Sydney, Australia last year.

Several sponsors will join with the Utah Travel Council in providing additional services, information and products to the media who use the facility, including cellular telephone rental, film and electronic image processing, copy and fax machines, office supplies and food service.

Manager of the Utah Media Center will be Scott Iverson, a veteran Utah writer, producer, and director. He will work at Council Hall on Capitol Hill until the UMC moves into the Expo Mart in November. The UMC is currently functioning and assisting media with site visits, story ideas, video and still photos of Utah locations, and contact referrals.
