“ROADSHOW!” Script
Salt Lake City, summer of 1965 – a time of war, personal turmoil and changing values. For young Stan (Yogi) Yorgason, it was the summer when girls became something other than a nuisance, when war became something other than a fruit fight with the kids on the next block and when believing in something became more than a lesson in Sunday School.
"They
thought they were there to act:
then
it got all too real…"
Five guys - each down on his luck for one reason or another - meet as movie extras in the remote Utah wilderness in the dead of winter. They are to play members of a SWAT Team during a location shoot.Ignored and dissed by cast and crew alike (all except Penny, the sympathetic 2nd A.D.) their days and nights are spent in freezing anonymity; alternating between punishing physical exertion and abject boredom.
Little does the movie company know their every move is being watched by the man on whom the "true story" movie is based - a crazed, renegade cult leader named Gadianton Smith, bent on revenge and mayhem.
Stranded after the final setup of the film, the Team must battle both the elements and their fellow man to survive.
